Private lessons with a specialist who can instruct the student in the technical skills and nuances of their voice, will exceed the scope of any general music program. Private lessons may be started at any time.

Musicianship and the practical experience of performing with other musicians is so vital to a musician’s development, that we encourage every student to take a musicianship class and appropriate performing ensemble. To make this affordable, students taking private lessons may take both a musicianship class and a performamce ensemble fo a discounted tuition. For very young children Musikgarten may be substituted for a musicianship class.
*Scholarship Students and “Prep’ Division Students are required to take theory and a performance ensemble.
Instrumental Ensembles: Rock Band, Chamber, String, Wind, Jazz Combo & Percussion Ensembles
Let a professional put you into a group and start performing. Learn how to play music with other musicians. The teacher will tutor the students through the selection of music, arranging it for their instrumentation and how to perform it.
45 minute rehearsals every other week plus a performance every 8-10 weeks.(30 min. for Duos • 60 min forLg. Ensembles) Schedule and placement in an ensemble arranged by instructor.
Is VITAL to a musician’s development. For very young children Musikgarten may be substituted for a musicianship class.
Students learn Sight-singing skills, ear-training and theory. Learn to read, write, transpose and sight-sing music. (A prerequisite for composition.) Call Office to find out when the next class is forming.

Percussion Ensemble For Kids & Adults!
Learn timing, co-ordination, teamwork and joy, with this terrific class in hand drumming and other percussion instruments. Explore Folk, Latin, African and Cuban styles. Great for parents and children participating together.

Get those tunes and lyrics out of your head and into a written and/or recorded form!
Harmonize your own songs or arrange a favorite piece. Part-writing and use of computer composition software.
Prior Knowledge of scales and chords is an asset! Musicianship is recommended before taking songwriting.
